[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_01] Bigfoot by CoolestMan4
[00:01:02] [SPEAKER_01] My grandparents and I always like to go to a little campsite. It's hours away from where I live. I don't want to say where it is, but basically it's really out there. Far enough that medical helicopters can't even come in. Trees for miles. We always like to go camping there because my grandfather is a big Bigfoot fan. And barely anyone goes there.
[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_01] I don't want to say too much about it because that would ruin it. When I was 13, we went camping there and it was pretty normal. But because I really didn't care that much, I was just thinking of it as camping.
[00:01:46] [SPEAKER_01] The first time we went was with me, my grandmother, my grandfather, my cousin, and my grandpa's friend who he met online. He was there because they were both Bigfoot fans. He had tons of equipment to track him. I'm talking about bank loan type stuff. Anyways, they're both pretty excited. They do an interview talking about the first time my grandpa went there and how scary it was.
[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_01] He always tells scary stories about the place, which tend to freak me out. It was all pretty normal. I don't remember much besides sleeping through it and eating military food, but after that I just went to bed. For some reason, I couldn't sleep for about an hour, but then I finally passed out. I woke up early first.
[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_01] The sun just started rising, but I looked out to see if anyone else was awake. It turns out my grandpa's friend had left. He left at four in the morning, terrified. Now, I didn't think anything of it at the time. I'm 16 now and can actually be aware of my surroundings, so we went down there this summer.
[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_01] During the morning, I would see stuff move, but just assume it was a deer or something like that. But my grandpa always thought it was Bigfoot trying to communicate. We started talking for a while, and I swear, I saw a nest. Not a normal bird's nest, but something man-made. It was something so large that it could fit a gorilla. We documented it and went back to camp. I was terrified.
[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_01] I kept on hearing crickets, which meant I was okay. But it was 12 at night, and I couldn't sleep. I was on my phone, just kind of staring off, daydreaming, thinking about writing in my notebook, when all of a sudden the crickets stopped. It's dead quiet. I'm terrified. Of course, I think of it as a bear or something, but bears don't normally walk on two feet. There wasn't any talking. Nothing.
[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_01] I swear something was walking right next to my tent. Something not human. The next morning, I told my grandpa what happened. He said the same thing happened to him the first time he was here. We went back to where we saw the big nests, but this time, there were footprints, way bigger than a bear's. They didn't even look like bear footprints. They looked human. Kind of the size of two records put together.
[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_01] We left in the morning, but I swear, we were not alone when we were out there. Now, you could say this was fake or whatever, but I know something was there, and I know it wasn't human.
[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_00] The woman at the rest stop by Daniel. You guys have had a couple of stories involving rest stops, and I wanted to send this one in.
[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_00] About a decade ago, my wife and I were driving home after visiting some friends who lived about seven hours away. We got on the road later than I wanted to, since we both had work the next day. But we really didn't want to leave. Anyway, we were about an hour away from home when we pulled over at a gas station rest area right off the freeway. The only other thing around is a motel, and a smaller gas station on the opposite side of the freeway.
[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_00] There were only a few cars in the parking lot, and I parked a little farther away from them. My wife and I went in and got some snacks, and when we came back outside, there was an older woman standing near the car. She was probably in her 60s with short gray hair and a light brown coat. She asked us if we were heading north. I told her we were, and then she asked if I could give her a ride to an exit about 20 minutes away.
[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_00] I felt bad because she seemed harmless, but I just don't feel comfortable giving any stranger a ride, especially with my wife. It also had just gotten dark. But I don't think that influenced my decision. I asked her if her car broke down, and she said no, but that the people she was with left without her. This obviously raised some red flags.
[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_00] I don't remember exactly how she explained it, but it didn't make sense how that would result in her being abandoned. I apologized and told her sorry, but no. She seemed to understand, though, and didn't try to convince us. But she did ask if we could do her a favor and keep our eyes out for anybody who might be trying to find her.
[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_00] I asked who I was supposed to be looking for, what they drove, and all she said was something about them coming back. I was confused again. But she seemed to think whoever left her there was going to come back for her eventually. She also didn't have a phone, so I asked if she wanted to use mine. She thanked me, but she said she didn't have any phone numbers memorized, and to not worry about her.
[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_00] So I wished her luck, and we started getting back in the car. Then the lady said something I thought was really strange. If you see them, tell them I waited as long as I could, and that I'm sorry. I nodded at her and said I would. Then my wife and I sat there for a while, debating if we really should give her a ride, and wondering what she meant by that.
[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_00] We looked back and saw her walking over to the picnic tables, but decided to let it go. I considered going inside to tell a worker about her, but I figured she probably knew more about her situation than I did, and was probably asking for a ride out of convenience, like not actually abandoned or something. And about ten minutes after that, we left. The lady wasn't at the tables, and we didn't see her wandering around anywhere.
[00:08:35] [SPEAKER_00] About fifteen or twenty minutes into the drive, traffic started slowing down. There were police cars and a fire truck on the shoulder, and I could see a car down a grassy embankment. It looked like it had gone through or around the guardrail. I only got a quick look as I passed. I also saw a tow truck farther up the shoulder. We got home sometime after ten. My wife's sister called her and they chatted for a bit.
[00:09:05] [SPEAKER_00] My wife mentioned to her about the woman at the rest area. She told her how we felt bad about leaving her there. And her sister asked why we hadn't told anybody inside. Now we felt really guilty. We agreed that we probably should have done more. They got off the phone a little later, and we went to sleep. The following afternoon I was reading some local news online
[00:09:31] [SPEAKER_00] when I came across an article about a fatal car accident on the interstate. It was the same accident from the night before. According to the article, a woman in her 60s had died. I immediately thought about the woman I had spoken to, wondering if maybe her ride came back. I remembered reading that the police had been called earlier that night, but the article didn't give me enough information
[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_00] to actually work out when exactly the accident itself happened in relation to our stop. But it wasn't far from the rest area. There also wasn't a photograph of the woman who died, and her name wasn't published. I showed the article to my wife. I told her what I was thinking. She said there were probably plenty of women in their 60s traveling through that same area, and I had no reason to assume it was her of all people.
[00:10:29] [SPEAKER_00] She made a joke about the lady being stuck there still. I laughed, and then we dropped it. Well, about a week later, the accident popped up in my mind again, so I started looking through recent obituaries for any women around her age. I really wanted to find a picture, or if I still cared enough, look up all the names without a picture on Facebook. Maybe I could find her on there. I didn't have to look on Facebook, though.
[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_00] I found her obituary, which included her picture. There wasn't anything personalized about who she was, but when I showed it to my wife, she locked up and nearly started crying. She was also positive it was the same woman. The timeline of everything, and that weird thing she last said to me. Tell them she waited as long as she could, and that she's sorry?
[00:11:30] [SPEAKER_00] Her explanation for being left alone to begin with didn't make enough sense for me to even try to explain, so I don't know why she would need to be sorry about anything. I haven't thought about this in a while, but I've been really trying to remember her name. I'm thinking about trying to see if I can do a records request. Maybe the police report has an estimated time of the crash. It's also so strange we never saw her leave.
[00:11:59] [SPEAKER_00] Did she predict her death? Or did anything else at all weird happen?
[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_01] What I Saw That Night in Utericon by Razgula Rogue So, I must have been around 5 or 6 years old at the time. My dad was in the Air Force, so I spent most of my childhood inside Air Force stations and their official quarters. Very safe, very structured. But that one summer vacation, we had gone to our village in Utericon.
[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_01] It was a small, quiet place tucked between the hills in India. Now, in that village, there's this belief. Never go out after 8, especially if you're a kid. And if you really have to, like, say, pee in the middle of the night, always take an adult with you. The toilets in those old villages are usually built outside, a little ways away from the main house.
[00:13:18] [SPEAKER_01] But I wasn't used to all of this. In the Air Force quarters, I was used to doing everything on my own, so that night when I woke up needing to pee, I went out by myself. Nobody saw me. I slipped out quietly. The night was unusually silent. There weren't any dogs barking or insects making noise. Just stillness. The air had this weird weight to it,
[00:13:47] [SPEAKER_01] like something was watching. But I ignored it. I did my business quickly and was walking back to my room, half asleep, when I saw her. Right outside our house, there was a big tree, massive, thick roots hanging down like ropes. And there, sitting on one of the lower branches, was my mom. Or, at least, it looked like her.
[00:14:15] [SPEAKER_01] Her hair was open and long, completely loose, swaying gently, even though the air was completely still. She wasn't doing anything, just sitting and staring straight ahead. I called out, Mom, what are you doing there? No reply. I took a few steps toward the tree. I was confused, but not scared yet, just puzzled. I was about to get closer when suddenly,
[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_01] my cousin, who must have heard me shout, came running outside, half asleep, and said, Are you crazy? What are you doing outside? Come inside. It's not safe. I told him, Mommy is here. She's sitting in the tree. He followed my finger as I pointed toward the tree. But there was nothing there. Just an empty branch. Just the tree, dark and still, not even the sound of the wind. We both stood there for a second. Then he pulled me inside
[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_01] without another word. The next morning, I asked my mom about it, whether she went out that night, or maybe sat near the tree, and she looked at me confused and said, What? No, I was sleeping. I never left my room. And that's when the real horror started. From that night onward, every time I tried to go to sleep, I would hear a voice outside the window. Soft, feminine, like my mom's. It would say things like, Son,
[00:15:45] [SPEAKER_01] Mommy's here. Come outside. It didn't sound right. Like the tone was off. Like someone trying really hard to sound like her, but failing to copy the warmth. It was cold. And it always came around the same time. Sometime past midnight. After a couple of nights, I started feeling really weak. I lost my appetite, stopped talking much, and was running a fever that wouldn't go down.
[00:16:15] [SPEAKER_01] When I finally told my grandmother everything, the tree, the voice, the figure that looked like my mom, she got a serious look. Very serious. She said, That wasn't your mother. That evening, they called the old village priest. Someone who does cleansing rituals. I don't even know what it's called in English, maybe spiritual cleansing or banishment ritual or something like that, but I remember sitting on the floor as they lit incense,
[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_01] chanted mantra, and sprinkled something like holy water on me while the priest kept whispering under his breath. That night, I slept without hearing the voices. After a couple of days, my fever went away and I started feeling like myself again. But even today, whenever I think about that night, the image of my mom sitting in that tree, hair loose, face blank, it still gives me chills because I'm not sure what I saw,
[00:17:13] [SPEAKER_01] but I know that it was not her.
[00:17:30] [SPEAKER_00] The Whistling Behind the Shed by Brooke. So this happened in October last year and I'm still a little weirded out by it. I was reminded about it because my phone apparently set it up as a recurring appointment or something. Anyway, my work friend asked me to watch her dog for a weekend while she went to a wedding. I used to live in an apartment nearby, so I was kind of excited to have a yard to hang out in,
[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_00] and I slept there instead of just going back and forth. Her house is in one of those older neighborhoods where the lots are long and skinny. She has a border collie named Salsa, but she's older and mellow. Basically just lies down wherever you are, also because she has bad hips. My first night there on Friday, I was on the couch watching some baking show, and Salsa got up. She hardly ever gets up.
[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_00] Then she went over to the sliding door and just stood there with her tail going. I figured she had to go, so I let her out. She gets halfway across the patio, and then I hear two whistles. Like quick ones, the kind you do for a dog. I thought it was a neighbor. It came from the back by the shed. Then Salsa ran. I've been to the park with my friend in Salsa a few times.
[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_00] I've never seen her move faster than a shuffle. But she took off. I went out after her, and I could hear somebody talking by the shed. It sounded like a normal voice holding a conversation. I couldn't make out any words, but it had pauses in it. Like someone answering, if that makes sense. Then I got closer, and it just stopped. Salsa was just sitting in front of the shed door,
[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_00] wagging her tail. Nobody was there. I picked her up and carried her in. Forty-ish pounds, by the way. Not fun. I figured it was somebody on the other side of the fence, but I didn't really think about it. Then on Saturday, at around the same time, I was in the kitchen. Salsa didn't run, but she did quickly start shuffling toward the back door. Like she saw something important.
[00:19:57] [SPEAKER_00] Then that's when I started hearing the whistling again. What's weird to me is that she did this before the whistling started. I had the back window cracked open. I wasn't listening to anything at the time, or running the sink, so I should have heard it too. I should also mention that Salsa doesn't have the best hearing. And then she started scratching the glass. My friend later told me that she never did that.
[00:20:27] [SPEAKER_00] She would always just sit down and whine at the door to be let out, which is also what she normally did while I was there. I didn't open it. I turned off the kitchen light to see better, and I stood there for a minute or two. I could hear somebody walking around next to the shed, like on gravel, that crunchy sound of footsteps. I couldn't see anybody, though. And it's not a big yard.
[00:20:57] [SPEAKER_00] I texted my friend and asked, does a neighbor whistle for Salsa? And she said no. Why? I said never mind. Probably kids. She sent back a weird face emoji, and that was it. This might not matter, but later when I went to check the lock on the front door, Salsa didn't follow me. She always follows whoever she's with, unless you tell her to lay down on her bed.
[00:21:29] [SPEAKER_00] I didn't notice this until I came back to the living room, and I saw that she was sitting about two feet from the back door, staring out the glass, totally still, and she stayed there. I said her name twice, loud, and she never turned her head, which is normal for an old dog with bad hearing, except she heard the whistles from across the house just fine. I went to bed.
[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_00] When I got up in the middle of the night for some water, she was in her bed in the living room, curled up like nothing happened. My last day there, Sunday morning, I let Salsa outside, and I was looking over at the shed. I noticed there wasn't any gravel there. It's just soft dirt and grass. The neighboring fences all just had grass on the other side too,
[00:22:24] [SPEAKER_00] but I know I heard footsteps on gravel out there. I don't know what else it could have been. And probably the weirdest thing, there was a dog treat on the ground right in front of the shed door, bone-shaped, the hard kind. My friend only buys the chicken jerky ones, which I'd also been giving Salsa all weekend. I threw it away, because of course I wasn't about to let her eat it.
[00:22:55] [SPEAKER_00] I guess it could have blown in from somewhere, but I don't know. When my friend got back, I started talking about the whistling, and she said, huh, yeah, she stares at that corner sometimes, and didn't have anything else to say about it. When I told her about the bone-shaped dog treat, she told me she was sure she had never bought those, or brought any home. She thought it was weird too,
[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_00] but wasn't as weirded out as I was at the time. Anyway, that's it. I haven't dog sat for her since, but mostly because her sister usually does it. Part of me wants to watch Salsa again though.
[00:23:41] [SPEAKER_01] I encountered higher dimensional beings by Mystic Mantis. This dream starts with me at some kind of art event. A blonde man with white skin
[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_01] approached me while I was checking out painting supplies. I can't remember what he said, but he invited me to some sort of event at his house. I didn't have anything else planned, and was curious what he had going on, so I followed him, and we left in his car. We arrived at his house in a neighborhood, and I got out of his truck. I walked down the sidewalk to the end of the street and looked around, taking in my surroundings.
[00:24:39] [SPEAKER_01] He told me that I could go, and motioned towards his house. I saw that there was another man standing by the truck, having a conversation with him, but I don't remember what he looked like. I couldn't hear what they were talking about, but I entered the house through the front door and made my way inside. A woman with blonde hair and white skin greeted me. She told me that I was to be the sacrifice.
[00:25:09] [SPEAKER_01] All of this seemed very out of character for me to just blindly follow a man I've never met and accept the conditions from a strange woman that I'm going to be a sacrifice for some sort of ritual. But it's as if I were in a trance, being led by these two individuals. She led me to a formation of three circular metal platforms on the ground in the backyard. They were forming a triangle
[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_01] and were big enough for one person to stand on. I stood on the right one. She stood on the left one, with the uppermost point of the triangle in front and between us. After several seconds of standing, the sky started to darken and the trees started taking a strange texture, the bark moving in intricate patterns. The next thing I knew, lightning came down from the sky
[00:26:06] [SPEAKER_01] and struck the third empty platform in front of us, sending electricity through all three platforms. I blacked out and found myself in another realm unlike anything I had ever seen. The space seemed to go on forever and faded out into infinity. The space was dark maroon red and after several seconds, I realized there was some sort of higher dimensional being
[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_01] levitating in front of me where the third circular platform would have been, where the lightning had struck. It was made of several levitating eyes that were surrounded by levitating orbs. All parts of it were constantly changing colors and had a similar color palette to that of a DMT carnival, or what the visionary artists usually depict in their work when painting higher realms.
[00:27:04] [SPEAKER_01] It levitated there, watching me, and then I realized through my peripheral vision that there were black orbs behind me in either direction as far as I could see. I started to turn my head and caught a glimpse of them levitating in perfect unison for what appeared to be infinite in all directions. I felt like they were alive, and upon looking at them, they all reacted as one,
[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_01] vibrating violently and emitting a strange and alien sound as I stood there terrified. I realized they did not approve of me looking at them so I quickly turned my head back toward the floating entity, anxiety now circulating through my body. When I looked back, the being in front of me started pulling my awareness toward it, and then I was teleported
[00:28:01] [SPEAKER_01] to another infinite maroon red space where giant orbs were floating in front of me. They were covered in intricate colors and patterns that were constantly changing while the orbs themselves were being stretched, compressed, and morphed through one another. Each orb was taking on an action of its own, yet somehow all acting in unison as if breathing in their own special ways. They were huge and getting closer to my face.
[00:28:30] [SPEAKER_01] It was starting to scare me, and I tried to close my eyes. Fear gripped me when I realized I was unable to. No matter how hard I tried, I was not able to look away from these orbs. After several seconds of this, I opened my eyes, and I found myself sitting on the ground on the metal platform back in my original destination. The man was crouched in front of me,
[00:28:58] [SPEAKER_01] just about a foot away from my face, looking deeply into my eyes. He didn't say anything, but his facial expression and eyes were full of pure amazement, shock, and horror. It was a very intense energy coming from him that made me uncomfortable. I told him, why didn't you warn me about this? I couldn't close my eyes. He stared with the same expression, unchanging,
[00:29:28] [SPEAKER_01] and didn't say anything to me. I looked to my left and saw the other woman collapsed on the metal platform in a heap. I wasn't sure if she was dead or just unconscious. Either way, she looked to be in bad shape. I looked back at the man and still, he was crouched in my face with the same expression, not saying a single thing. After this, I woke up in my bed
[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_01] with his face of horror and amazement seared into my mind. So 256, 256, at least it's a significant number. 256 applies to at least one thing in life. Do you know what that is?
[00:30:19] [SPEAKER_00] I'm assuming computer stuff, 256 values in one byte. Yeah.
[00:30:24] [SPEAKER_01] I always think of 256 colors on my old Windows computer.
[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah, I miss those 8-bit days. It's crazy that we're up to 24 bits now. 16, almost 17 million colors compared to 256.
[00:30:36] [SPEAKER_01] There's a great emulator called PCEM. It's also kind of a virtual machine installs Windows 98 on it like a real computer. I've been playing games on it.
[00:30:46] [SPEAKER_00] It's great. And with the way AI is, love it or hate it, which I think at this point there's a lot more reasons to hate it, but we could in theory decompile and reverse engineer Windows 98 and add super fast fiber internet. Assuming no viruses in the web browser were at least modern, I think that'd be fun. That'd be great.
[00:31:05] [SPEAKER_01] That would be pretty awesome. Yeah. The only thing I think AI should be used for is technical stuff with computers. Right. Because it's like making the computer work as a computer for computers, not real life stuff.
[00:31:17] [SPEAKER_00] I know. It's so scary. We're like on the trajectory of being able to be like, hey Jarvis, prolapse that person's rectum. We got to do something about this. And being a digital commodity, I can see it being like prohibition. Piracy laws, not all that effective. If somebody wants to break the law, they won't really have much of a challenge doing so, but today I'm going to choose optimism. No doomer stuff. I'm off the soapbox now.
[00:31:45] [SPEAKER_01] I know we talked about like what do we do for the last episode, but after some back and forth, like I just felt strongly like let's just do a regular episode. Yeah. Do our regular thing. Let's talk about the stories, shoot the shit a little bit, just make it a little special one.
[00:31:58] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah. All natural. It's fine. It's fine. fine.
[00:32:03] [SPEAKER_01] Let's, let's, uh, let's jump into the feedback as per usual. All right. So Teresa says, I tried Googling the pipe cleaner man that Opie mentioned, the original poster, and I think I found it. I have to agree they were kind of creepy, especially in one episode where one of them got electrocuted and lost their fuzz. The wire body was weird. And this sent me on kind of a bit of a rabbit hole. So they referenced Aberleaf films. I think I'm saying that right, Aberleaf.
[00:32:31] [SPEAKER_01] So I went to the site. It's a very, very old website and they have some real player videos of the artist Doug Aberleaf's work, including some original pipe cleaner man videos. The problem is I wasn't able to watch it because it's 2026 and I don't use real player because I don't want, you know, Bonsai buddy malware on my computer. And I still use Winamp. It kicks the llama's ass. Yeah. Yeah. Winamp. Yeah. Winamp's fine. That's safe. But real player
[00:33:01] [SPEAKER_01] was always a little shady.
[00:33:02] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah. Yeah. I don't want to think about real player. There was, I always found the weirdest things that would play in real player because you had like Windows Media Player. But for some reason, all the worst stuff I was exposed to, it was always in the real player format.
[00:33:16] [SPEAKER_01] I went to the real player website. It's still around and they still do it, but it's like they charge you for a downloader to download it like 25 bucks or something. It's really weird, man.
[00:33:27] [SPEAKER_00] It's like, why is MySpace still around? I don't understand it. How are they making money? It just exists. You can go to
[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_01] everybody's profiles on MySpace, but like the pictures don't exist. There aren't any posts. It just exists as data.
[00:33:41] [SPEAKER_00] So strange. It's yeah. And like, why get rid of the pictures and everything else? What data is worth preserving? It's what a mess. Anyway, yeah, we're trailing off as per usual. What else is there about the videos?
[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_01] Yeah, going back here, Doug does have an extensive career in animation from what I found on IMDb. He worked on Sesame Street, Cartoon Sushi on Liquid TV and even like The Adventures of Mark Twain. You remember that?
[00:34:06] [SPEAKER_00] Oh, yeah, yeah. That one was had no business being as creepy as it was, but that was amazing.
[00:34:11] [SPEAKER_01] Mm-hmm. Yeah, if you haven't seen that one, you have to check it out on YouTube. He did do a documentary about his experience working on Return to Oz, another favorite of mine. It's called I Killed the Gnome King. So, Teresa, thanks for sending me on that rabbit hole.
[00:34:27] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah, thanks. I'm going to download Real Player now. Yeah. Goff Daily says, creepypasta comes from the term copy-paste. Mm-hmm. Oh. Copy-paste, likely due to typos, became copy-pasta, a story repeated online. Okay, I did not consider that that copy-pasta was in reference to the misspellings that could occur from copying and pasting.
[00:34:50] [SPEAKER_01] I actually used to hate the term creepypasta, but I've grown to really like it. I don't know why. I think it just reminds me of 10, 15 years ago internet, when it first started getting popular.
[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_00] So, I don't like it only because for the longest time I always called it creepypasta for some stupid reason. That's how my brain read it. Kind of like the whole gif and jif debate, but I don't think there's really an argument to be made for creepypasta, but I just, it sounded right to me. Creepypasta was too like moons over my hammy type of thing as I didn't want to say it.
[00:35:20] [SPEAKER_01] Yeah, it's very, no, I get it. Yeah, when you order at Denny's, you don't want to say, I'll have the moons over my hammy, please. Yeah, yeah. I'll have the clucks and fries. You and I have the same aversion to saying goofy shit as adults.
[00:35:37] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah, if I'm going to be silly, it's on my terms. I don't want to be solicited with some cutesy marketing thing and kind of, sort of being expected to play along with it. Like, no, no, I opt out. No thanks. I don't even do the chance that they have a say at work, which sounds like I'm in a cult, but if you know, you know, these bullshit sayings that are supposed to like rally up some morale. I'm just sitting there rolling my eyes. Can we just go home? What is the point of this? So, yeah, maybe that's what it comes from.
[00:36:05] [SPEAKER_01] Maybe. Mine comes from like Sunday school church stuff that they made us do. It was just so cringy. It was, yeah, it just make you do embarrassing things like it's, you know, cute for the adults, for the parents. I hated that kind of stuff. But Slender Man, Creepypasta, it was an interesting era. Good time. Mm-hmm. Katia is back. To continue the saga of dogs will eat anything, my sister's corgi literally ate a hole in her drywall. Then later, he ate enough of her mattress
[00:36:35] [SPEAKER_01] that she had to replace it. I'm amazed at what dogs can eat and just survive. They'll just poop it out and they're fine. That would never work for a human.
[00:36:46] [SPEAKER_00] And I want to know how the drywall thing worked out. Was it the corner of a wall? That's the only thing I can make sense of. But those corners are so reinforced and not just plain wall. I don't know, maybe charged forward and pierced a hole with its nose. Who knows?
[00:36:58] [SPEAKER_01] Maybe the dog's teeth could get out long enough to where he could just start scraping at the wall enough. Maybe he used his paws to start a hole in the wall and then started eating around inside of the hole. That's kind of how I imagine it happening.
[00:37:11] [SPEAKER_00] She did say ate a hole in her drywall, so maybe there was a hole and it just ate the hole and made it bigger. Who knows? Yeah. Eating holes. Anyway.
[00:37:23] [SPEAKER_01] So, it felt appropriate to say goodbye with a solid Bigfoot story. And while I'm extremely skeptical about this specific cryptid, I've kind of shared my apprehension just because we don't have any real physical proof, just sightings. I won't deny that I'm definitely curious and interested. You have to be. It's Bigfoot. It's legendary. And apparently mandatory. One tidbit I found heartwarming in this story and really amusing
[00:37:52] [SPEAKER_01] was a comment from Bigfoot Hunter 4777 and they said, I am the grandfather and pretty much everything stated here is the truth.
[00:38:04] [SPEAKER_00] Source, trust me, bro. Yes. Kind of kidding, but not really. I love that.
[00:38:09] [SPEAKER_01] Yeah. And then the author responded with, I can confirm this is my grandfather. It kills me. Case closed. Pack it up. Just thinking about it kills me. I love it. So regarding the friend of the grandpa who took off, I was curious about this too. The author's grandpa said in the same Reddit thread, the activity got overwhelming, especially the hours right before dawn. He is a retired combat veteran and was heavily armed,
[00:38:39] [SPEAKER_01] but whatever was messing with his tent containing his grandson scared him to the point of not even wanting to stay. Oof. So yeah, maybe it's some, there's some PTSD there going on, scared the crap out of him, sent him back to combat. But needless to say, I do like these guys. I love that they're teaming up grandpa and grandson on Reddit, if that is the case, if it's truly them. And you know, I've been holding onto this one for almost a year now. I figured this is the perfect time.
[00:39:08] [SPEAKER_00] I like to think they're just sitting on the couch together with their phones or something. Maybe they're smoking cigarettes. I just saw an ashtray for some reason. Anyway, let's talk about Daniel's story. Talk about a doozy and a half. I'd be feeling incredibly guilty and that's not at all trying to shame Daniel or anything like that because who knows how this would have turned out.
[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_01] Yeah.
[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_00] I would just be wondering if the crash could have been prevented because there's this, I see why it was submitted as something supernatural just because there is that time consideration. If it actually happened before or after the interaction, and that cryptic thing that the lady said to them, tell them I waited as long as I could and that she's sorry. Maybe she knew she was going to die and she's sorry because she got impatient and that she's just going to end up dying again and she's living through a loop and if she would have waited,
[00:39:58] [SPEAKER_00] those people came back to get her and everything was fine. Maybe she got in the car with the wrong person. I really don't know but this was quite a chin scratcher.
[00:40:07] [SPEAKER_01] Yeah, and I think anybody that's at all human is going to feel bad. Daniel probably feels terrible. I would feel terrible. Anybody with a heart would feel terrible about this. And you know what? This doesn't do much for people like us that are distrusting of people because I can tell you plenty of times where I've said no to giving somebody a ride or doing something for somebody when I just felt wrong. I don't know. I don't know you well enough and I can't put my family in danger. That kind of thing. Yeah,
[00:40:37] [SPEAKER_01] that's the world we live in unfortunately. It sucks.
[00:40:41] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah, I've never hitchhiked but I have on one occasion picked up a hitchhiker as like a bucket list thing. Wow. And it was fine but that was incredibly stupid of me. It is what it is. I do want to know what the listeners would have done and what they think the woman meant. Would you have given her a ride? I don't know. I don't think there's a right answer to this.
[00:41:00] [SPEAKER_01] I tried to come up with any kind of sense of the tell them I waited as long as I could line. I just, I can't figure it out. I don't know what she would have meant by that if she were a ghost, if it did happen and that was, you know, hers trying to send a message. I don't know what the message is. Maybe it's something personal with her and whoever left her there or whatever. I don't know. It's such a weird, weird one. It's one I'm definitely going to be thinking about and we'll probably talk about it on a future episode.
[00:41:28] [SPEAKER_00] Yes, we will.
[00:41:29] [SPEAKER_01] Yeah. Now you have to come back and visit us. Yeah. So, the other one that I had been holding onto for a really long time by Mystic Mantis, the higher dimensional being story. This was weird. This, I held onto because I just, I couldn't, I don't think I could ever find a right time to talk about it because there's so much to unpack. It's so weird and it is technically just a dream story which we don't really do often just because they're dreams, you know. Mm-hmm. So, in response to this very weird story,
[00:41:59] [SPEAKER_01] there was a Redditor who had some interesting notes on a couple of things in the dream. So, grab your popcorn, sit back. We are all ears. Regarding not being able to blink, I think you may have been astral projecting. It's like lucid dreaming in space shared with others. Most who astral project report having 360 degree vision with no need to blink.
[00:42:23] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah.
[00:42:24] [SPEAKER_01] That is true. Robert Monroe wrote about that a lot that you just kind of had 360 awareness and vision was hard to explain. Right. They go on to say, I think they still focus on one thing but if it circles them, they don't even need to turn their head to follow it. The type of visuals you describe sound like astral stuff. I think you encountered an entity of the fifth or sixth density. Huh? I don't know what this is. This is some kind of new age talk.
[00:42:53] [SPEAKER_01] Yeah, I don't know either. I've encountered them while meditating before. Entities of fifth and higher density are social memory complexes or SMCs. They are made up of many individuals who can and do act and communicate as one single entity. It's possible for a nation of people of fourth to become an SMC. But they can also be made of a variety of alternate
[00:43:23] [SPEAKER_01] versions of themselves. I'm not going to go on and read everything here but they did bring up something that was funny that said Council of Reads think of that from the Fantastic Four or the parody Council of Ricks from Rick and Morty and all controlling giant robot Reed Richards via telepathic democracy. I don't know this is getting weird. I'm not going to go over everything that I put here in the notes if you're watching Brandon.
[00:43:49] [SPEAKER_00] I'm trying to keep up. I'm looking and highlighting I'm sure you see. I'm like what is going on?
[00:43:53] [SPEAKER_01] Yeah I do I do in real time. I'll let you cook. Go for it. I'm done with that. I'm done with that. I'm just going to leave it. I just wanted to share that like there's a lot more going on here in this weird fifth and sixth density or dimension I guess. I don't know.
[00:44:07] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah it feels like we skipped a few levels in Scientology and we're not ready to hear all that yet. Here's my thing about this stuff.
[00:44:15] [SPEAKER_01] People talk about it as if it's fact. They say actually the fifth and sixth dimension beings are blah blah blah blah blah blah and blah blah blah blah. It's as if they've been told this information or they've learned it somewhere and they've retained all of this. And that's why I kind of steer clear of it. But I can't deny that it kind of scratches at the back of my head saying like hey you should get this.
[00:44:38] [SPEAKER_00] Maybe they're onto something.
[00:44:39] [SPEAKER_01] Yeah exactly. I just can't help it. It's interesting. It does sound like a cool sci-fi story yes but there's something more going on with the author. This is where I really dug in. They have some great experiences including encounters with greys and mantis beings. They found implants in their body. They woke up with their clothes on backwards. Like a walking talking odd trail story really. And they're also an artist and you can see some of their work surrounding you know the experience is and everything else they have
[00:45:09] [SPEAKER_01] on their blog. We'll link to it in the show notes for sure because you guys are going to want to check this out. All the stories are there. I think this is more than just a crazy dream. They've definitely been experiencing something beyond what most of us do. I also included the sketches that they made regarding this specific dream in the discord server but it's also on that blog if you want to check it out.
[00:45:29] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah that was some cool stuff. I gotta dive in a bit more. Really interesting. Oh boy. What now? Well we've come to our pass. Yeah yes we have a lot of mixed feelings. I'm definitely excited for what's in store for the future but it's definitely very very bittersweet. I do want to know and I'm sure most of the audience will wonder too what are some of the big takeaways you've gotten from the show like any parting thoughts or anything that you're going to miss anything at
[00:46:06] [SPEAKER_01] together and yeah you'll schedule a time to get together whether it's online or in person and you catch up and it's fun or you text each other once in a while and that's fine but when you have like a project or a work with them or do something you're forced to do something every weekend if you don't feel like it and you don't want to do it. You end up hating them.
[00:46:25] No.
[00:46:26] [SPEAKER_01] Just kidding. Just kidding. When you're forced to do it even if you start dreading having to do it because it's technically work you end up having a fun time doing it and you think back like oh man that we technically hung out hundreds of times because just because of the podcast whereas we probably would never have done that.
[00:46:45] [SPEAKER_00] That is true yeah it's like scheduling time carving out time of the week that is good it's always cool afterwards we can jump on a steam game or just BS for a bit. It has been fun in that regard and it's always good when you have chemistry with somebody that you work with. It's been a true honor it's been fun.
[00:47:01] [SPEAKER_01] Yeah me too
[00:47:01] [SPEAKER_00] definitely has been
[00:47:03] [SPEAKER_01] fun. And then as far as like the podcast goes the discord's been a lot of fun actually just like we've become friends with these people and learned a lot about their lives and their stories and interacting with listeners has been awesome. Agreed. That's probably the best part about it aside from obviously the stories the stories are cool. Oh for sure. Yeah but you know I'll be listening so and you know maybe I'll come back on in the future for some special episodes or something. There's no reason for it to be a
[00:47:32] [SPEAKER_01] hard stop.
[00:47:33] [SPEAKER_00] Yeah we'll still be hanging out remotely and in the same circles so it's all good. Yeah. We bid you farewell and we'll see you again. It's not goodbye it's a see you later.
[00:47:45] [SPEAKER_01] Yeah yeah see you later. Thanks everybody you can always catch me over at let's not meet and the old time radio cast I'll be bumping up the frequency of both of those podcasts with the extra time that I have so look forward to that and yeah I'll be back y'all I'll do this for one last measure thanks for listening if you have a story to share send it to stories at odd trails dot com and sign up for our patreon or sign up for his patreon at patreon dot com forward slash odd trails because you'll get ad free versions of all the episodes

[00:48:19] [SPEAKER_02] Oh yeah.
[00:48:22] [SPEAKER_01] You guys are gonna get only odd trails fans.
