[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_00] What's up y'all? Summer's got a different tempo. Everything's a little looser, brighter. One plan turns into another. You hear something, you stay a little longer. Next thing you know, you're somewhere you didn't plan to be. It's those in-between moments. That's where the ideas hit. Conversations stretch out, little memories sneak up on you. Sometimes, it's just about what's in your hand. That color. That chill.

[00:00:24] [SPEAKER_00] The new tropical butterfly refresher from Starbucks. Guava and passion fruit flavors with mango pineapple flavored pearls. Yeah, that feels like summer before you even taste it. Funny how one small stop becomes the best part of the day. Start your summer rhythm with Starbucks. [00:01:40] Believe. Believe.

[00:02:17] [SPEAKER_07] A glitch, parallel reality, or collective hysteria by Elio Abel. This happened a few months ago. I'll try to describe it in great detail because after retelling this story many times, absolutely no natural explanation fits, and everything was witnessed by two people at the same time.

[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_07] I met up with a cousin to have a beer on a Friday. It was at a weekly event that always gets crowded, where people sit at tables and chairs spread across the square and freely go into the surrounding bars to buy drinks or use the bathrooms. We stayed talking from around 8.30pm until 11.30pm. We literally drank two beers each, shared a plate of chicken, and nothing else before deciding to leave.

[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_07] And I want to emphasize what we consumed to make it clear that we were not drunk or under the influence of any kind of hallucinogens. Before walking back, we decided to use the bathroom, but the bar we were standing in front of was too crowded, so we decided to go into the bar next door. That's when the whole anomaly began. We entered the bar, and it was completely empty. I don't mean not too many people.

[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_07] I mean there wasn't even a bartender, no customers, no human being at all. The bar was open and completely lit, just as normal. There simply was nobody there. We went to the restroom in the back, which only had stalls and sinks. My cousin entered the first stall, and I entered the second.

[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_07] During the few minutes we were in there, I found it strange that my cousin kept knocking against the divider between the stalls, almost as if he were leaning on it, but nothing beyond that. When I came out to wash my hands, there was also a man washing his hands at the sink in front of the first stall. I stood next to him, looked him in the eyes, and he looked back. I had never seen that person before.

[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_07] He was an older man, probably 50 or 60, with a very serious expression, but otherwise just an ordinary person in a public restroom. I looked toward the first stall where I had just seen my cousin enter, and it was empty. I found it strange that he had already left, but again, nothing is impossible. I just assumed he was waiting for me outside the bar. I saw the strange man finish washing his hands and walk out.

[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_07] I had finished too, and I left in the same direction, and that's when I noticed he was wearing a green waist bag on his back, identical to my cousin's. The bar was still completely empty. I watched the man walk to the sidewalk and stop, as though he were waiting for someone. I also walked out to the sidewalk and once again stopped beside this person. I had no idea who he was.

[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_07] Again, we looked directly into each other's eyes with absolutely no sign of recognition from either side. I looked for my cousin. Since I had left the bar, there were now a bunch of people on the sidewalk. I walked around a bit looking for him, but nothing. I thought, that's impossible. He must still be in the restroom. So I went back into the bar to look for him. As I walked toward the restroom, while the bar still remained completely empty,

[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_07] I felt my phone vibrate and I saw that it was my cousin calling me. Obviously, I answered immediately and asked where he was. Literally, while he was responding, I turned around to look again towards the sidewalk, and exactly where the strange man had been standing one second later, there was my cousin, standing in the same position wearing the same green waist bag. We looked at each other and instantly recognized one another, so I walked back outside the bar.

[00:06:24] [SPEAKER_07] The moment we met, we almost simultaneously asked, what the hell just happened? That's when he told me his version of the events, which he had just experienced. His version was very similar to mine, but with some extremely important differences. He said that he had not been banging on the stall divider. Quite the opposite, he had gone into the restroom, finished quickly, and had been waiting outside of the restroom, but still inside the empty bar.

[00:06:52] [SPEAKER_07] He was there for more than ten minutes. He also had the strange man washing his hands next to him. However, according to him, the man wasn't just older. His face was deformed in some way, and in his words, he had an incredibly heavy energy, as though he wanted to hurt someone. He saw this strange man follow him out of the bathroom, and recognized parts of his clothing as being what I was wearing. Just like I had only recognized the green waist bag,

[00:07:22] [SPEAKER_07] he recognized a black t-shirt. When he saw the deformed man walk back into the bar, he decided to call me. According to him, he then witnessed almost a metamorphosis. As the man turned around, he saw changes in posture, shape, and face, and by the time the figure fully turned around, it was me standing there. After that, we simply met up and walked in the direction of his house, where I would call an Uber.

[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_07] Everything was completely normal as if nothing even happened. My cousin and I are both very skeptical people. He told me he spent days afterward feeling genuinely terrified, and I still have no reasonable explanation for what happened. What do you think? Do you believe in the paranormal? I'm looking for any kind of opinion or explanation.

[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_06] Premonition or a Memory from the Future by Heather I was listening to episode 236, and in one of the stories, the author mentioned having a premonition dream about their house, and that made this memory come flooding back. I don't tell this story often, because unlike some of my other paranormal experiences, it's incredibly mundane. But it was so strange that I still think about it from time to time,

[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_06] and I have no explanation for it. Plus, my favorite types of odd trail stories are the ones with glitches in the matrix, or time slips, and I know you guys really like those stories too, so I thought this would be the perfect place to share. This happened back in 2014, while I was on vacation in Amsterdam. I was traveling with my husband and my best friend, and we were sharing an Airbnb with one bathroom.

[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_06] I take a long time to get ready, so I was usually the first to get up, so I could take a shower before the others were awake. I remember I was especially groggy that morning, the kind of half-awake where you don't really feel fully present. I was going through the motions on autopilot, when I suddenly became hyper-aware of my feet touching the shower floor. This was one of those showers where, instead of tile,

[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_06] the owners had put down a sort of mosaic, made of small, smooth rocks. I remember looking down while I was shampooing my hair, and thinking, that's funny, we had a shower with the floor just like this when we were living in China. And then suddenly I snapped fully awake, because at the time, I had never been to China, let alone lived there. Not only that,

[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_06] but China was completely off my radar. I didn't have any connections to that country. And although I've always been an avid traveler, I didn't have any special desire to go there. My point is, China just wasn't a place I ever really thought about. I thought the whole thing was pretty strange, but at the time I chalked it up to just being really tired. I would have almost certainly have completely forgotten about the whole thing,

[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_06] if it weren't for what happened two years later. I ended up accepting a faculty position at a university in China. Again, this wasn't something I had been planning back in 2014. I had applied for the position on a whim, not because I was specifically looking for a job there. The whole thing happened very quickly, and I needed to secure housing for me, my husband, and our dog in a hurry.

[00:11:24] [SPEAKER_06] A colleague in the department I would soon be joining was kind enough to offer to contact a local real estate agent and go on house tours for me, so that I could set up a lease before arriving. She toured several apartments and sent me photos and videos. I was close to signing a lease for a two-bedroom when my colleague messaged me to say that the agent contacted her to let her know that a townhouse had just come on the market,

[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_06] and he thought it might be a good fit for me since it had its own private garden for my dog. She sent over the photos, and I was swiping through them when suddenly, I saw it. The bathroom, complete with a shower and an unusual, mosaic floor made of small, smooth stones, just like the one I had stood on in Amsterdam. I still remember the full-body chills

[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_06] I experienced in that moment. I hadn't thought about that strange memory since it happened two years prior, but it came flooding back the second I saw that photo. I immediately texted my colleague to say we would take the townhouse. I had a strange feeling that I had no choice but to live there, since, I guess you could say, I already remembered living there. I wish there was more to the story,

[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_06] but that's all there is to it. There was nothing creepy or weird about the townhouse, nothing that made me think we were drawn there by an outside force or anything like that. In fact, despite some issues with mold, we enjoyed living there, and so did our dog. I don't know if this counts as a premonition, because it truly felt more like a memory from the future, if that makes sense.

[00:13:19] [SPEAKER_06] It's just a weird thing that, to this day, I can't explain.

[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_07] Missing Rooms in an Abandoned House by Mr. Skills for Real First of all, I want to clarify that my friend and I both experienced this and both agree that we still have no idea what we experienced. We weren't under any substances and neither of us has any kind of mental illness. I'm a scientific person and I don't believe in paranormal events. I yearn for logical

[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_07] and natural explanations for these things. Well, lately, my friend and I have been enjoying visiting abandoned houses. 99% of the time, it's pretty chill as we're in the countryside. There aren't any squatters and we're often the first ones to visit an abandoned place. After visiting dozens of creepy spots, I have never experienced any weird noises or whatever these YouTubers make urbex out to be like for content.

[00:16:42] [SPEAKER_07] A few months ago, we found a large abandoned home with three floors and a basement. After scouting a bit, we found the only possible entrance was through the underground basement first, which had an opening in the garden. So both of us went down and started our usual visit. When you first came down the stairs, you arrived in a main room with a concrete floor and walls. On the right was a staircase leading up to

[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_07] the abandoned home. In front, there was a continuation of the basement through a corridor with a large rotting wooden shelf. At the end of the basement were two other rooms. One of the rooms had a rotting wooden table and a dirt floor, which I took a picture of. We continued the normal visit to the house and left after about twenty minutes. And this is what made me and my friends lose our minds. We came back

[00:17:41] [SPEAKER_07] to this house exactly four days later with another friend. There was no sign anybody had been there in those four days. We entered the house through the exact same basement and there was only one empty room and a staircase leading up to the house. No corridor, no other rooms, no rotting wooden shelf, no dirt floor, no creepy rotting table, which I had taken a picture of. It was just

[00:18:09] [SPEAKER_07] four concrete block walls, a concrete floor, and a staircase. There weren't any signs of a newly built wall to block off the corridor. And all these walls seemed like they had been rotting there for years. My first reaction was that we must have entered through a second, different basement and that the one I had a literal picture of couldn't have just disappeared. But the house wasn't that big

[00:18:38] [SPEAKER_07] and we did remember going down the same stairs, yet somehow they led to a completely different basement. What's blowing my mind is the fact that I have a perfectly clear image of this room that no longer seems to exist. My friend and I remember the exact same thing, so it's not a Mandela effect or both of us somehow imagining rooms. To us, everything in this picture

[00:19:07] [SPEAKER_07] seemingly vanished from reality, along with a corridor and another wooden shelf, which, by the way, would have been extremely hard to move out of a basement without leaving traces. It's the only event in my life that I have accepted as something I'll never be able to explain, and it makes no sense from any point of view.

[00:19:47] [SPEAKER_06] Did I See the Future? by Kayla. This happened a few years ago, and it still bothers me a little whenever people talk about deja vu or remembering things before they happen. At the time, I was living with my sister. One evening, I was standing in our kitchen waiting for water to boil while half-watching some random HGTV show playing in the living room. Out of nowhere, I had this

[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_06] very clear memory of sitting in a waiting room trying to fix a loose strap on my bag. It wasn't just like a vision though. It just felt like a normal memory had suddenly popped into my head. In the memory, I was sitting near a window in some building I didn't recognize. I remember blue plastic chairs along one wall and a vending machine somewhere across the room. I think there

[00:20:46] [SPEAKER_06] was a fake plant in the corner too, although I'm less certain about that detail now. I was looking down because the strap on my bag had started coming apart near the buckle. I remember being annoyed about it more than anything else. I also remember hearing somebody behind a counter call out a name that wasn't mine. The whole thing lasted only a few seconds. Then I realized I had no idea where this place was. I didn't

[00:21:16] [SPEAKER_06] recognize the building, and I couldn't remember ever owning the bag I was carrying. The memory felt completely ordinary, except for the fact that I couldn't place it. That seemed reasonable, so eventually I stopped thinking about it. About a year later, my company sent me to another city for a short training course. I'd never been there before. The hotel was connected to a small conference center where the training was being held.

[00:21:46] [SPEAKER_06] On the second morning, I got there early and ended up waiting near the registration desk before they opened the meeting room. I remember checking my phone and wishing I'd grabbed coffee before leaving the hotel. I noticed there were blue plastic chairs along the wall and a vending machine across the room. I noticed them, but it didn't immediately click. Then I looked down and saw that the strap on my bag

[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_06] had started pulling loose near the buckle. I remember staring at it for a second and getting a strange feeling in my stomach. A few moments later, someone behind the registration desk called out a name that wasn't mine. That's when I suddenly remembered standing in my kitchen a year earlier. I sat there trying to make sense of it. Maybe I'd seen photos of the conference center online

[00:22:44] [SPEAKER_06] at some point. But if I did, I don't remember it. I didn't even know exactly where the training would be held until a few weeks beforehand. Nothing else strange happened during that trip. I still don't know if it was some kind of premonition, a weird coincidence, or my brain playing tricks on me. What keeps me from dismissing it entirely is that I told my sister about the deja vu long before the trip ever happened,

[00:23:15] [SPEAKER_06] and she still remembers the conversation.

[00:25:35] [SPEAKER_07] Encounter with Tall, Long-Nosed Entities by NatureLover1. I'm looking to see if anyone has had similar experiences with specific types of tall beings. This has been weighing on me and I recently found a book cover that matched what I saw. Last week, August of 2024, in Slovakia at around 2am, I woke up to go to the bathroom.

[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_07] As I reached for the bathroom door handle, this powerful urge or some kind of force just stopped me. I felt compelled to sit on the edge of the bed where my two daughters were sleeping. I felt like I couldn't move and something was telling me to look toward the window. When I did, I saw two figures. They were tall. Now my house has motion-activated light sensors on the corners outside, but they didn't

[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_07] turn on, which made me even more terrified. In a panic, I reached out to touch my daughter's leg just to make sure that she was okay. I could feel drops of sweat running down my own legs from the fear. then I was quote-unquote told to look out the window again. A third figure, taller than the first two, moved to the right into the center between them. This movement was very mechanical.

[00:27:04] [SPEAKER_07] The most vivid detail I remember was that their noses were long when they turned their heads to the side. I have a gap in my memory after that. I don't know how long I sat there, but the next thing I do remember is finally going to the bathroom, rushing back, shutting the curtains, and hiding under my duvet until morning. Since returning to the UK, strange things have continued. I once woke up to see three

[00:27:34] [SPEAKER_07] shadow-like figures passing through my door. During lockdown, around midnight, I was brushing my teeth when something told me to look up through the roof window. I saw a massive triangular object with a green light in each corner. It was huge, moving very slowly and completely silent. It was so low, I thought that it would land on the roof. I rushed to the other room to get a better look, but in the few

[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_07] seconds it took me to move, it had completely vanished. I've been searching for anyone who has seen these long-nosed beings. Recently, a book titled Humanoid Encounters 1995-1999 popped up on my phone. The figure in the bottom left corner of the cover is similar to what I saw in Slovakia. Has anyone seen these specific beings with the long noses? It sounds grotesque, I know,

[00:28:33] [SPEAKER_07] but that detail is the one that has stayed with me ever since.

[00:28:38] [SPEAKER_06] Did I See a Dinosaur? By Ray V. I know this isn't exactly your usual type of story, but I thought I might as well tell you anyway. I don't really tell

[00:29:07] [SPEAKER_06] people about it because I know it sounds unbelievable, but I swear this happened to me. It's probably the strangest thing I've ever experienced. When I was around eight or nine years old, my family was renting the basement of a house. The landlord's family lived upstairs. One day I was playing in the backyard with the two kids who lived upstairs. The older sister was thirteen and her little brother was six. Behind the

[00:29:37] [SPEAKER_06] house was what I used to call a mini forest. It wasn't a park or anything, just a wide area filled with trees that our parents didn't want us playing in. I'd recently gotten one of those cheap plastic recorders, so of course I was showing off my hot cross bun skills. After a while we started taking turns, playing random sounds and trying to see who could make the coolest noise. Eventually it turned into a contest to see who could play

[00:30:07] [SPEAKER_06] a clean note the loudest. It was my turn when all three of us suddenly heard a loud screech coming from the sky in the direction of the trees. We stopped, looked at each other, and turned toward the sound at the same time. Something flew out from above the treetops. It looked like a dinosaur. More specifically, it looked like a pterosaur. It was

[00:30:36] [SPEAKER_06] beige with black eyes and had a large sail-like crest on its head. Its mouth stuck out like a long beak, and its wing stretched between its body and arms. It had small legs, long outstretched arms, and a tail that looked bulbous near the end before coming to a point. It almost reminded me of a mace. It wasn't huge, either. It was probably around the size of a large

[00:31:06] [SPEAKER_06] dog, like a Great Dane. It flew toward us for only a second or two, before suddenly turning around and disappearing back into the trees. We all stared at the spot where it had vanished. Then we started shouting things like, Did you see that? And what was that? All three of us immediately agreed that we had seen some kind of dinosaur. We ran inside to tell our parents,

[00:31:37] [SPEAKER_06] but of course they didn't believe us. They thought we were playing around. I told my brother too, but he just brushed me off and said, Yeah, right, sure you did. The three of us met back outside and compared what we had seen. We all described the same creature. We started wondering whether it had been attracted by the recorder. We tried playing the same note again and making it as loud as

[00:32:06] [SPEAKER_06] possible, but we never saw or heard the creature again. We spent close to an hour trying to recreate whatever sound might have brought it out. At the time, we thought maybe it had mistaken the recorder for another one of its kind and then panicked when it saw us. We talked about it for weeks, even though none of our friends at school believed us either. My family eventually moved away and I lost contact with the

[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_06] other two kids. I have no idea whether they still remember what happened or whether they even live there anymore. Had I been alone that day, I know the story wouldn't carry much weight, but all three of us saw it. That's the part that's always stayed with me and made me wonder how much might still be out there that we haven't discovered.

[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_07] All right, great episode. So, Alexander writes in, referencing episode 236, to the person asking what crystals their mom possibly had. My wife says that it could either be smoky quartz or obsidian, and this is a reference to the crystals in the story from last week that got broken, that we didn't get a lot of information about. And, funny you should say that, I literally have obsidian and smoky quartz right here on my desk.

[00:35:45] [SPEAKER_06] Nice, I got some dragon's blood sitting next to me.

[00:35:48] [SPEAKER_07] Dragon's blood? I don't think I've seen that one. What's that look like?

[00:35:51] [SPEAKER_06] Oh, you know what? It is dragon's blood stone, or dragon's blood jasper, I want to say, not just dragon's blood. Really cool name though, just dragon's blood.

[00:36:00] [SPEAKER_07] It sounds way cooler than blood stone. I agree. Way cooler, yeah. Let's see, Cater May referencing 234, said, I watch Twin Peaks once a year and I still find new things every time that I watch it. And that's similar to what you told me last night. You said that you completely forgot who killed Laura Palmer and you had already watched it before.

[00:36:22] [SPEAKER_06] Yeah, I want to say I watched through it twice over the years and no, I couldn't tell you who the killer is if my life depended on it.

[00:36:29] [SPEAKER_07] That's so funny to me.

[00:36:30] [SPEAKER_06] Yeah, maybe third time's the charm. So Camilla says, or asks rather, okay, Brandon, we need to know more about your martial arts background. That's so cool. Black belt or what? So I did Jeet Kune Do for most of my teenage years. Really, really fun. And fun fact about that, my instructor's instructor was one of Bruce Lee's original five students at his first school that opened in Oakland, California in the 60s. So a third

[00:37:00] [SPEAKER_06] generation pupil of Bruce Lee, kind of cool, kind of cool. And then I wrestled in high school and off and on when my body allows me to, I dabble in jiu-jitsu. What about you? Do you have any sort of secret athletic skills?

[00:37:13] [SPEAKER_07] I've watched over the top quite a few times, so I kind of understand arm wrestling. That's my extent.

[00:37:19] [SPEAKER_06] Yeah, that counts.

[00:37:21] [SPEAKER_07] Yeah. Haley says, my BFF's dog just had surgery for the same thing, a flutter stomach, what we were talking about last week, about the dog that had eaten too much hair. They said that they were lucky they took him in right away after dry heaving and a swollen stomach. So you heard it here first, folks. This is actually an issue. It's not just like a one-off thing that we heard from one author. So during shedding season like right now in the summer, gotta stop them from licking themselves so

[00:37:50] [SPEAKER_07] much.

[00:37:51] [SPEAKER_06] Yes, that is a very worthy PSA. And to add on to that, make sure your cats don't get stout. If they stop eating for an extended period, take them to the vet. Don't wait a couple of days and see if their appetite returns. Do it ASAP because something with their liver, I don't even remember, I don't know what, but it can definitely cause some irreversible lethal issues with them. So yeah, odd trails, saving one animal at a time. Hopefully at least one.

[00:38:19] [SPEAKER_07] Absolutely. That's what we're about here, saving animals. Loretta says a good rewatch movie is The Others. That was a great suspenseful flick, and after the twist, you watch it again and everything comes together and makes sense. I've watched it several times, and it's creepy every time. The Lady with the Veil are creepy. I don't remember a pirate being in there. But I do remember The Lady with the Veil. And yeah, you're right. The Others really stuck with me, and I didn't really

[00:38:49] [SPEAKER_07] know why until I watched it again recently. And I realized, oh no, this is just like a beautiful arthouse film. It's a masterpiece in filmmaking. It's not just some jump scare horror movie from the 2000s. It's a work of art.

[00:39:02] [SPEAKER_06] So I was about to say I probably saw that movie 10 years ago. Then I realized 10 years ago is just 2016. So yeah, more like 20 years. That's just a trip.

[00:39:15] [SPEAKER_07] Yeah. It's weird to say 20 years ago so casually, but most of the things I experienced in life happened 20 years ago when I was 19. Let's get into some stories.

[00:39:26] [SPEAKER_06] Sure thing. I like how I had two stories that kind of seems like a deja vu, but in reality, it's like a glimpse into your own future. I think that is just incredible, especially with Heather's story. Yeah. So if it was just the shower floor that looked familiar, a quick little deja vu, and then maybe she was in Home Depot or something and saw the same tile or whatever. Okay, yeah, fine. That's just a deja vu that happened to be a coincidence by finding the tile later.

[00:39:56] [SPEAKER_06] But China is just so specific. Like I was saying, it sounds like a past life experience in the moment, but then you later find out, oh, this is a glimpse into my future. Really cool how it resolves that way because you never know. It could just be a glimpse into your past life, but in this case, we can see that it was a glimpse into her future.

[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_07] Yeah, and what's interesting is that Heather doesn't describe it as a premonition, like knowing what's going to happen next. It was like a memory. Right. They're remembering the future. So probably didn't even clock as a premonition or something that was going to happen.

[00:40:31] [SPEAKER_06] Clock it, clock it.

[00:40:32] [SPEAKER_07] And then they end up in China and yeah, clock it and it happens.

[00:40:38] [SPEAKER_06] That's got to be a real trip though. Having something that feels like a memory only for it to be a future event that actually happens. And that would just mess me up if that ever happened.

[00:40:50] [SPEAKER_07] Now, speaking of predicting the future or time traveling, I guess, slips in time, the house with the missing rooms was very interesting to me and that's exactly what I was thinking about. I think this was some kind of time slip. So we're going to share the picture that the author took in our Discord channel if you want to take a look at it. It's exactly as they described. It's just a concrete basement with a rotting table which apparently disappeared with a shelf, a couple of the rooms, and a corridor.

[00:41:20] [SPEAKER_07] And yeah, this feels a bit like a time slip. The first time that they visited, maybe it was the original construction of the basement from years prior and they're experiencing it through some kind of time slip. And then when they returned a second time, they witnessed what it actually looks like now. We keep getting these stories too where things, locations, and people have changed in an impossibly short amount of time. We'll get to another one of my stories that does that as well. And it happens in impossible ways. It's like a classic

[00:41:48] [SPEAKER_07] and literal glitch in the Matrix.

[00:41:51] [SPEAKER_06] It really is. And especially for something like a large abandoned three-story house, it's not like you picked the wrong apartment complex that's so specific that you're not going to get lost or stumble into the wrong three-story house that you were just at four days prior. Yeah, definitely some glitch thing. I've always thought it'd be funny to do a harmless, fun little thing like that where let's say a lake bed is almost dried out, like the Salt Lake, very, very bad.

[00:42:21] [SPEAKER_06] It'd be funny to do something where when nobody happens to be looking at it, completely fill it up and nobody has any explanation for it. And people have to report that. It would just cause people to go into a frenzy, but I would do harmless things like that. I don't know. I just have a lot of chaotic neutral and good in me. But yeah, we were going somewhere with this, I think.

[00:42:42] [SPEAKER_07] Yeah, well, listen, just because I brought up the whole things-changing deal here, I want to switch over to my story from Elio Abel, the other glitch story. So, this definitely isn't the first time we've heard a story that featured something like this. There have been a couple of other encounters where two or more people witness a person or entity in their vicinity, I like that, and even interacted

[00:43:10] [SPEAKER_07] with them, but had completely different descriptions of this person. It's like they're both looking at the same person. They both experienced an interaction with the same person, but they saw something completely different. We've had two stories like that that I can remember. It's like these entities are trying to disguise themselves as humans, but they're just like latching on to everyone's individual expectations and just coming up with some perceived being.

[00:43:40] [SPEAKER_07] And it's completely different depending on who's looking at them. But this story is so cool because it's just another encounter with this being that we don't have a name for. You can call somebody a shapeshifter, a mimic, but two different people seeing a completely different person, that's a different kind of thing, right? A mimic would just change its physical appearance. This is somehow getting into people's heads and making them see different things. It's almost like some kind of government

[00:44:09] [SPEAKER_07] weapon or something.

[00:44:11] [SPEAKER_06] Maybe there could have been something to the bar though because they stepped out of a crowded street and I would imagine a bar would be operating at least and have somebody in there. So maybe that was some sort of portal that they entered into. That's the only thing I can really think of.

[00:44:26] [SPEAKER_07] Exactly.

[00:44:27] [SPEAKER_06] Yeah. And the fact that they both came outside asking what just happened, it wasn't just like an experience that one of them had, like they both knew something was up.

[00:44:36] [SPEAKER_07] Yeah. And it was interesting that this entity somehow borrowed from their appearances, like he was carrying like the same bag or wearing the same shirt as the other person. It was just so bizarre, so weird. And yeah, I agree with the authors that this would really mess me up for a long time. Really good one.

[00:44:56] [SPEAKER_06] Makes me want to go to Brazil.

[00:44:58] [SPEAKER_07] I want to also say I looked up the book that was referenced with this whole long nosed entity thing from Nature Lover. And it looks like the author, Albert Rosales, has published a number of these books covering different time periods about cryptids. The one that the author referenced though was 1995 to 1999. And I looked at this one and the creature that they're talking about looks like a traditional gray alien. and I don't see the long nose.

[00:45:28] [SPEAKER_07] I'm wondering if maybe they referenced the wrong book because there are a ton of these things. The pictures are cool. They just seem to be like random images that you would find on the internet in like 1999. It's the ultimate like lo-fi, retro, cryptid experience, I guess. I did like the single Goodreads review on one of his books. They said, I like that the author rarely comments on the witnesses' testimonies. Grammatical errors and typos abound,

[00:45:58] [SPEAKER_07] but I don't care. I keep reading the whole series.

[00:46:02] [SPEAKER_06] That's great. I love it. Raw and uncut, just like some of our earlier episodes.

[00:46:07] [SPEAKER_07] Oof. Yeah, we don't talk about those.

[00:46:09] [SPEAKER_06] And as for Kayla's story, another strange little glitch in the matrix or a time slip or a future life. I don't really have anything to really elaborate on, but I did think it was interesting that she told her sister about the waiting room long before the work trip actually happened. And for me, that makes it harder to explain the experience as just a memory that her mind may have created after the fact.

[00:46:33] [SPEAKER_07] Yeah, and I like that these authors weren't trying to explain or say what happened to them. That's what the case is with most of the authors that send in these stories. They have no idea what's going on and they're asking for people's opinions they just want to know, has anybody else experienced this? Because this is so weird. And it makes their stories even more convincing because they're not trying to convince anybody of something. They're trying to find answers. You know, they don't have an agenda. That's why I love about these stories.

[00:47:00] [SPEAKER_06] Yeah, and I guess for us, it's all just for funsies, but we do our best to get it right. And worst case scenario, we just have a good time sharing stories.

[00:47:08] [SPEAKER_07] Yeah. Anyways, if you guys have a story to share, you want to find some kind of explanation for what happened to you? Listen, we're not the people. We're not the people for it. We will share our crackpot ideas though. Send them in to stories at oddtrails.com.
